The first two are via the Press Gazette’s excellent blog, The Wire(yes I will update my blogroll soon).
1. Shane Richmond’s tips for hournalists using Facebook to obtain information.
“Even when the information on these sites is publicly available, it’s important to remember that in most cases it was not intended for a mass audience. It certainly wasn’t written for you. Taking it and publishing it without warning can cause offence and embarrassment. Where possible, contact the author or site owner and tell them what you plan to do. Many people will be happy to help. If the author doesn’t want to help, you and your editor will have to decide whether the story justifies ignoring their wishes.”
2. The Manchester Evening News’s guide to video for newspapers.
3. Dr. Vee’s take on organ donation, and a balanced roundup of views on both sides of the fence. That’s one of the reason’s why I like Vee’s blog – he’s even handed even if he disagrees with other positions.
4. My FC have released more details about their takeover of Ebbsfleet. I’ve only had time to glance through it and it deserves further analysis. Sadly I’ve not got time to properly look at it today, but hopefully somebody else will give it careful analysis.
