A rare foray away from non-league football at Soccerlens as to why Euro 2008 could just be the best thing that could have happened to England. I’ve been glued to the tournament for the past three weeks so lower-league clogging has taken a brief back seat. I’m half expecting to get a hammering in the comments…

I’d also like to take this opportunity to apologise to those work colleagues who got bored to death with these arguments at lunch on Friday. If it’s any consolation, you helped me formulate those strands into an article.
